The Oakland (DSL) Athletics used a great performance from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Jorge Mata to beat the Toronto (DSL) Blue Jays, 2-1, at Juan Marichal Complex. The win for the Athletics lifted their record to 28-24.

Ron Paul delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Athletics. For the game, Paul drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.

"What a rush!" said a smiling Paul.
