The New York N 2 (DSL) Mets 2 picked up a win at Juan Marichal Complex, knocking off the Oakland (DSL) Athletics, 5-2. On the mound for New York N 2 (DSL) was right-hander Eugenio López. He played a key role in the triumph. Loren Holmes locked down his 6th save. With the win, New York N 2 (DSL) pushed its record to 40-13.

New York N 2 (DSL) used the timely hitting of José Ruíz to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets 2 on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said López.
