Yankees Win Squeaker, 1-0, Over Cubs
|
Fans watched the DSL Yankees and the DSL Cubs fight to the finish.
DSL pitcher Tomás Morín gave the Yankees all they could handle, but in the end, DSL left Baseball City Complex with a win, 1-0. Morín allowed no runs on 5 hits over 6 innings. Kyoichi Matsumoto earned the save for DSL, his 10th.
DSL used a timely hit from Luis Carrión to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Carrión told a DSL News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The Yankees, at 23-30, inhabit 4th place in the Coastal Division.
