Padres Come Back Late, Nip Yankees
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the DSL Padres and DSL Yankees.
Led by 18-year-old Jorge Martínez, the DSL Padres knocked off the DSL Yankees, 4-3. Martínez was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Padres. The setback makes DSL 24-32.
DSL used the timely hitting of Pancho González to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Padres on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Martínez told a local reporter after the game.
