DSL Topples DSL, 3-1
|
The DSL Angels welcomed the DSL Cardinals to an night game at Academia de Abel Garcia.
DSL pitcher Bob McJannett did his part in helping his team beat the DSL Cardinals, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. McJannett, the winner, moves to 2-6. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Mike Clark stitched up the save, his 10th.
The Angels got a big at-bat from center fielder Tony Cabrera. For the game, Cabrera was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave DSL a 3-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said DSL skipper Miguel Asencio.
DSL has now won 3 in a row.
