Close Win Moves Diamondbacks to 22-34
The DSL Diamondbacks did just enough to sneak past the DSL Rays, 7-6, at Baseball City Complex. DSL third baseman Wally Archer, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Mike Wallace. He is now 2-1. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. The third-place Rays have lost 4 consecutive games.

Loren Childs took DSL hurler Jorge Ordóñez deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Diamondbacks on top, 7-5. In all, Childs had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Childs told the DSL Bulletin.
