Astros 3-2 Victors Over DSL
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The DSL Astros defeated the DSL Royals, 3-2. Doing his part was designated hitter Luis Pérez, who was 2-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. DSL pitcher Juan López got the win. He's now 8-0. Curt Martin was tagged with the loss.
The Astros got a big at-bat from left fielder Don Jones. For the game, Jones went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave DSL a 2-1 lead.
After the game, DSL manager Matt Summers applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
With the win, the Astros have a record of 30-24.
