The Chicago N (DSL) Cubs downed the New York A 2 (DSL) Yankees 2, 7-4, at Baseball City Complex. The Cubs were led by Jorge Moinelo. Moinelo went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Sammy Madden in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Duane Carter took the loss. With the win over New York A 2 (DSL), the Cubs improved to 28-38.

Chicago N (DSL) took a 6-4 lead on Doug Stone's 14th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Stone hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New York A 2 (DSL) pitcher Duane Carter visibly frustrated.
