Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Moss and Salt Lake
The Salt Lake Bees started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Fresno Grizzlies at Smith's Ballpark by a score of 7-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Bees right-hander Leon Moss threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs.

Ken Smith broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Bees in front, 4-3. For the game, Smith went 1 for 3.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Salt Lake manager Tom Prince told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City.
