Baltimore (DSL) Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The 17-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the New York N 2 (DSL) Mets 2 worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster António Santiago seemed like a risky move for the Mets 2, but it was one of the few things that went right at New York Mets Complex. Santiago tossed 5 solid innings, but it was all for naught after New York N 2 (DSL) dropped a 3-2 decision. With the win, Baltimore (DSL) took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 League Series.

Had Manny Ortíz not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ortíz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Orioles 1.

Ortíz attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Baseball City Complex.
