The Lehigh Valley IronPigs took Thom Stevens's best shot and still were able to collect a win at NBT Bank Stadium. The final score had Lehigh Valley getting past the Chiefs, 4-2, in 16 innings. Stevens over 7 innings allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 8. Robby Davis claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. His record stands at 2-1. The setback makes Syracuse 23-17.

Lehigh Valley used a timely hit from Gus Manley to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 16th inning to put the IronPigs ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Syracuse manager Dave Anderson.
