Red Wings Keep Streak Alive With 4-2 Win
|
The Rochester Red Wings topped the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 4-2, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. The standout performance belonged to Rochester pitcher and Honolulu, Hawaii, native Curt Boyd. Boyd, now 5-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Luis Pagán, his 8th this season.
Rochester used the hitting of Lúcio Aguilar to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Red Wings on top, 2-0. For the game, Aguilar had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Boyd told the Rochester Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Rochester has run its win streak to 10 consecutive.
