The El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 6-3, in Pacific Conference action at . El Paso pitcher Walker Lockett had a standout performance. The winner was Lockett. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Phil Perkins. Getting the save was Greg Lewry, his 2nd.

The Chihuahuas got a big at-bat from designated hitter Luis Perea. For the game, Perea was 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave El Paso a 4-2 lead.
