Grizzlies Slip Past Tacoma, 5-4
The Fresno Grizzlies picked up a win at Cheney Stadium, knocking off the Tacoma Rainiers, 5-4, in 14 innings. On the mound for Fresno was right-hander Jim Richmond. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. With the loss, Tacoma is 6-4.

Fresno needed the clutch hitting of Charlie Gaston to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 5-4. For the game, Gaston had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
