|
Starting pitcher Pat Bryant was a major factor in the 4-2 Sacramento River Cats triumph over the Salt Lake Bees. Ron Smith picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mauro Salazar suffered the loss. Ernesto Varela closed it out for Sacramento, earning his 2nd save.
Sacramento took a 4-2 lead on Mario Pacheco's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Pacheco hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Salt Lake pitcher Dave Jones visibly frustrated.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Pacheco.
The loss has the Bees at 13-7.
