El Paso 26-12 After 5-0 Win Over Albuquerque
|
The rain did not keep El Paso and Albuquerque from finishing their game.
The El Paso Chihuahuas knocked off the Albuquerque Isotopes, 5-0, at . Darrel Nijland was a big reason El Paso won. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win lifted the El Paso record to 26-12.
With El Paso leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Nijland hit a 2-run single off Albuquerque hurler Loren Workman. It was the 33rd hit of the season for Nijland and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Nijland. "And not try to do too much."
