Victory Over Grizzlies Takes Sacramento to 34-20
|
The Fresno Grizzlies got a superb performance from pitcher Phil Perkins, but the Sacramento River Cats still won the game, 5-4. Perkins threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Eddie Sherman, the winner, goes to 9-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6 innings. Hal Powell recorded the save, his 5th.
Anastasio Sánchez drove in one run for Sacramento. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pat Kaminska. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sánchez.
Sacramento has run its win streak to 4 straight.
