Villarreal, Grizzlies March to 7-4 Victory

The Fresno Grizzlies trumped the Sacramento River Cats, 7-4, at Chukchansi Park. Fresno left fielder José Villarreal was terrific. He went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mike Wilson earned save number 5. With the win, Fresno pushed its record to 31-24.
Villarreal had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Fernando Perri, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Grizzlies a 6-4 lead. It was the 11th double of the year for Villarreal.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Villarreal. "You've got to get results."
