In a seemingly effortless performance, Jim Richmond of the Fresno Grizzlies shot down the Sacramento River Cats, 4-0, on 3 hits.

"Jim was just locating so well and using his pitches," Fresno manager Kevin Cash said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Richmond recorded 7 strikeouts and 5 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Sacramento manager Carlos Corporan said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

This year, Richmond has fashioned a 4-4 mark, 3.98 ERA and pitched 72.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .255 against him and he has logged 59 strikeouts.
