The Fresno Grizzlies took Jim Olsen's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Chukchansi Park. The final score had Fresno getting past the River Cats, 5-2, in 12 innings. Olsen over 7.2 innings allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 9. Fresno reliever Bobby Dailey picked up the win to move to 8-5. Ernesto Varela suffered the loss. Fresno goes to 43-32. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
Fresno got a knockout punch from Ken Alexander. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Alexander said.
