Pacheco Hits 2 home runs in River Cats Win
|
The Sacramento River Cats beat the Salt Lake Bees, 9-4, at Smith's Ballpark. Mario Pacheco, who is tied for 9th in the PC in total bases with 135, starred for Sacramento. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Jim Olsen got the win, improving to 6-6. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 12 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The win puts the River Cats at 38-54, while the Bees drop to 53-39.
In the top of the sixth, Sacramento designated hitter Steve Norrish had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Norrish stroked a 2-run single to right-center. It made the score 5-1, Sacramento. For the game, he went 1-3, while adding 3 RBI.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Pacheco told a Sacramento Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
