Starting pitcher Pierce Johnson pitched well enough to help the Buffalo Bisons beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 9-3. With the win, Buffalo raised its record to 39-37.

Rony Cabrera went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs for Buffalo. The 29-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Juan Aguilar. It was his 38th RBI of the season.
