Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at McCoy Stadium.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs topped the Pawtucket Red Sox by a score of 6-3 in 12 innings. Leading the way was shortstop Jose Altuve. Altuve went 3-6 with a triple and a double. He drove in 4 runs for the IronPigs. The win has Lehigh Valley at 10-14.

Altuve had a game-changing triple in the top of the 12th. On a first pitch curveball from Dave Lavington, he banged a bases-clearing triple to left, giving the IronPigs a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Altuve.

"It was a solid team effort," said Altuve after the game.
