Tyler drives in 5 runs, Ignites Erie Offense
The Erie SeaWolves topped the Akron RubberDucks, 8-0, with designated hitter Lonnie Tyler playing a big role. Tyler went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the SeaWolves in the win. Erie pitcher Tim Woods got the win. He's now 5-2. Walt Ashley was tagged with the loss. With the win, the SeaWolves hiked their record to 38-20.

With Erie leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Tyler hit a 2-run single off Akron hurler Walt Ashley. It was the 19th hit of the season for Tyler and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said SeaWolves manager Brad Ausmus.
