Rock Cats 8-5 Winners Over Altoona
The Altoona Curve and New Britain Rock Cats left the fans buzzing.

No one was more impactful than António Cháves in the 8-5 New Britain win over Altoona. Cháves was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New Britain starter Jesús Luna was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Kel Clark earned the save for New Britain, his 15th.

Kevin Jackson had a big 2-run double for the Rock Cats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With New Britain trailing 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Darryl Cobb and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rock Cats ahead, 3-2.

"The credit goes to our offense," said New Britain manager Gary Kendall.

The win elevated the Rock Cats to 36-27.
