Getting a good performance from left fielder Jimmy Hoffman, the Erie SeaWolves defeated the Altoona Curve, 7-5. Hoffman went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the SeaWolves. Erie pitcher Sam McClure earned the win, hiking his record to 4-1. Bruno Dennis suffered the loss. Erie improves to 45-30 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.

J.J. Cortini delivered a big hit for Erie. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the SeaWolves ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Erie manager Brad Ausmus.
