The Altoona Curve downed the Bowie Baysox, 7-4, at People's Natural Gas Field. Juan Palmeiro led the way, going 1-for-1 for Altoona. Altoona reliever Ernesto Paredes was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Bennie Henley. Greg Murray notched his 23rd save in 25 chances.

Palmeiro had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from P.J. Jackson, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Curve a 7-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Palmeiro.
