Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Arm & Hammer Park.
Ben McCabe, who is tied for 6th in the EL in home runs with 10, knocked in 4 runs to help the Trenton Thunder win, 7-1, over the Altoona Curve. Edwar A. Ramirez earned the win to go to 7-6. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Ron Craig recorded the save, making him 1 for 1.
With Trenton leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, McCabe hit a 2-run single off Altoona hurler Darryl Cobb. It was the 66th hit of the season for McCabe and put his team ahead, 5-0.
In comments to the Trenton Herald, McCabe admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The Thunder improved their record to 61-51 by beating Altoona.
