IronPigs Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
Coca-Cola Park featured a tense pitchers' duel.
In a tension-filled contest between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Buffalo Bisons, pitcher Luis Gil was superb. The Lehigh Valley right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the IL in quality starts with 5, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. The IronPigs, at 15-20, sit in 4th place in the North Division.
Making an impact for Lehigh Valley was first baseman Walt Blair. He drilled a double off Ernie Ramírez in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Blair went 1-3 with a double.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Gil said.
