Stone Crabs Beaten by Hammerheads, 6-4
Charlotte Sports Park was the site of the home opener for the Charlotte Stone Crabs. The contest featured a prime matchup between Sam David of the visiting Jupiter Hammerheads and Rubén González of the Stone Crabs. The final score was 6-4, the Hammerheads getting the win. Robby Márquez turned in the best performance. Chris Cantú snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Rubén González suffered the loss.

Jupiter designated hitter Jim Unknown contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a forkball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Hammerheads ahead, 6-3.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Unknown.
