Mercado Snags FSL Top Hurler Trophy

When António Mercado takes the mound, a Charlotte victory is usually the result. That was the case in May.
That's why he was voted the Florida State League Pitcher of the Month.
Mercado throttled league hitters the whole month with an impressive 5-1 mark and 1.23 ERA in 6 starts. The Stone Crabs star hurler also rung up 37 strikeouts in 44 innings.
This season in 10 starts, António Mercado has a record of 7-1 with 59 strikeouts in 69.2 innings and a 1.68 ERA.

FSL Best Hitter Award to Daytona's Jeff Kennedy

Not known for his offensive prowess, Jeff Kennedy set the league afire in May and took home the Florida State League Batter of the Month award.
The Daytona right fielder posted a steady .275 batting average, 8 home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs.
So far this year, Kennedy is hitting .273 with 12 home runs.
