In a low-scoring tilt between the Inland Empire 66ers and the San Jose Giants, 23-year old left-handed pitcher Pat Lovell was the difference-maker. The Inland Empire left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The loss lowers the San Jose record to 4-3.

Inland Empire used a clutch at-bat from Bob Moore to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the 66ers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
