Quakes Deal Lancaster 7-4 Defeat
Rancho Cucamonga and Lancaster duked it out and the Quakes came out victorious.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes starter Joe Groves found his groove in his team's 7-4 win over the Lancaster JetHawks. Groves got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 1 hit and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Héctor Rodríguez had a big 2-run triple for the Quakes in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Rancho Cucamonga leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from Phil Perkins, who is rated as the 68th best prospect by BNN, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Quakes ahead, 5-1.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Groves. "More importantly, I had a good game."

Lancaster, with the loss, is still a hardy 9-2.
