Thanks in large part to third baseman Lou Walker, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 14-4. Walker went 3 for 5 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win belonged to Max O'Carolan in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sam Bacon took the loss for Lake Elsinore. Lake Elsinore is 8-5 after the defeat.

Steve Gillespie aided the Rancho Cucamonga cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while scoring 2.
