The Inland Empire 66ers had to overcome a fine effort from High Desert pitcher Willie Miller to win, 5-3, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Miller went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. With the loss, High Desert drops to 12-11.

Dan Miller, who is tied for 9th in the CAL with a .554 slugging percentage, aided the Inland Empire cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with 2 walks.
