Inland Empire 66ers starter Chris Walsh turned in a top-notch performance against the Modesto Nuts at San Manuel Stadium. The result was a win for the 66ers, 2-0. In 5.1 innings, Walsh surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. At 17-13, the 66ers find themselves in second place in the South Division.

Von Duffin aided the Inland Empire cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a double.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Modesto skipper Audo Vicente, "and it cost us."
