|
Quakes right fielder John Linttell put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Inland Empire 66ers. Linttell was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Rancho Cucamonga in the contest. Picking up the win was Jamal Haley. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 10 and walked 2. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Smith.
Ken Taylor, the Rancho Cucamonga left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 4-2, Quakes. For the game, Taylor was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Linttell. "You've got to get results."
Rancho Cucamonga raised its record to 35-30 with the win.
