The Bakersfield Blaze picked up a win at San Manuel Stadium, knocking off the Inland Empire 66ers, 6-4. Starting pitcher Ron Wallace was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Wallace, now 2-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Bakersfield raised its record to 37-31 with the win.

Luis Camacho had a big solo home run for the Blaze in the top of the fourth inning. With Bakersfield leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Caleb Smith, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Blaze on top, 3-1.

"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Kent Matthes.
