Ron Evans had a good game, but he could not keep the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes from falling, 7-2, to the Lancaster JetHawks at LoanMart Field. The Rancho Cucamonga first baseman was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk in the loss. The first-place JetHawks, at 64-35, now lead their division by 13 games.

Lancaster used a well-timed hit by Ron Nolan to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the JetHawks ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We want to make a habit of winning," Nolan said after the game.
