Blue Jays Beaten by Manatees, 5-3
|
A good performance from catcher Bo Wallace helped the Brevard County Manatees defeat the Dunedin Blue Jays, 5-3. Wallace went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Manatees. Brevard County reliever Rubén Segura picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jorge Vargas absorbed the loss. Johnny Blackwell recorded his 1st save for Brevard County.
The Manatees got a big at-bat from center fielder Danny Gillespie. For the game, Gillespie was 1-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Brevard County a 5-3 lead.
"We were the better team," crowed Wallace.
The loss has the Blue Jays at 1-1.
