Kennedy Slugs Tortugas to 10-5 Win
The Daytona Tortugas powered past the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 10-5, at Joker Marchant Stadium. Jeff Kennedy provided some of the pop. He was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Daytona pitcher Rob Riley got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Ortega got the loss. Lakeland, with the loss, is 16-8.

Freddie Elliott had a big 3-run home run for the Tortugas in the top of the second inning. With Daytona trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a knuckle curve from Juan Martínez, who is tied for 9th in the FSL in triples with 1, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tortugas ahead, 5-3.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Elliott.
