Cardinals Held in Check by Flying Tigers, Lose, 4-1

Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Joker Marchant Stadium.
The Lakeland Flying Tigers called upon starter Shawn Major, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals, 4-1. José Cervantes earned the save for Lakeland, his 10th of the year.
Garry Bishop had a big 2-run double for the Flying Tigers in the bottom of the first inning. With Lakeland leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from 23-year old right fielder Jim Baker and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flying Tigers ahead, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Major.
At 20-5, the Flying Tigers have played well so far.
