Palm Beach pitcher Jim Sandberg did his part in helping his team beat the Dunedin Blue Jays, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Sandberg. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Joel Vallance. The loss puts Dunedin at 13-13.

Palm Beach center fielder Dave Ingram contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 21st hit of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 1-0.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Ingram.
