Cardinals Stumble, Fall to Blue Jays, 2-1
|
Runs were scarce at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.
The Dunedin Blue Jays topped the Palm Beach Cardinals, 2-1, in Florida State League action at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Dunedin pitcher and Olney, Texas, native Jerry Pagán. Doug Winters earned the save, his 6th.
Whit Barnes drove in one run for Dunedin. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jim Sandberg. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Barnes said after the game.
Palm Beach's current losing streak is now 4 games.
