Cardinals Come Back Late, Nip Threshers
The Palm Beach Cardinals earned a close win over the Clearwater Threshers, thanks in part to Andy Reeves. The Palm Beach left-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Tony Houston got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. With the win, Palm Beach raised its record to 19-18.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jim Baker in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Brunt to win the game for Palm Beach. The home crowd went nuts.

"Do what you're good at," said Palm Beach manager Irving Falu. "That's all I ask of the team."
