Lakeland Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
The Brevard County Manatees used a great performance from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ernie Cole to beat the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 3-1, at Space Coast Stadium. Cedric Young finished the game for Brevard County and earned his 5th save. With the win, Brevard County has a record of 17-25. Lakeland falls to 35-7.
Ed Hampton went 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Brevard County. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Albert Ramírez. It was his 6th walk of the season.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Lakeland manager Donald Lutz.
