Blue Jays Top Tortugas to Even Record
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Dunedin Blue Jays take on the Daytona Tortugas.

The Dunedin Blue Jays overcame a good performance by Daytona third baseman Jamie Goodwin to knock off Daytona, 7-5, at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Goodwin was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Dunedin reliever Dave Jayme was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Steve Adams took the loss.

Dunedin left fielder Jim Morgan contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 39th hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 7-5.

"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Morgan said (again).

The triumph puts Dunedin at 23-23 for the season.
