Blue Jays Take Home 4-2 Win Over Lakeland
The Dunedin Blue Jays defeated the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 4-2, in Florida State League action at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Dunedin pitcher Joel Vallance had a standout performance. The winner was Vallance. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Clemente Piccinini. Ron Waters nailed down his 3rd save.

The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from third baseman Luis Tovar. For the game, Tovar went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Dunedin a 3-2 lead.

Vallance attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."

The win elevated the Blue Jays to 24-23.
