Despite the rain, the fans at Joker Marchant Stadium enjoyed a good ballgame.

Lakeland used a superb performance from starting pitcher Sam McClure to down the Clearwater Threshers, 4-1. Jorge Castro notched his 12th save of the season.

Garry Bishop, who is tied for 5th in the FSL in home runs with 6, aided the Lakeland cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"It's a mindset," said McClure. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."

Lakeland, at 37-19, is 8 games up in the FSL North.
