The Clearwater Threshers beat the Brevard County Manatees, 4-2. Clearwater pitcher and Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Canada, native Steve Ives led the way. The win puts Clearwater at 29-28 this season.

Lou Bannatyne hit a run-scoring double off Dominic Crow in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Threshers in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Bannatyne had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"Steve set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Clearwater manager Hector Santiago.
